DESCRIPTION:

TECs* ESL Teacher Training, Engaging English Learners 101 is a 7-hour training that prepares volunteers to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) in a community-based or faith-affiliated setting. The workshop provides hands-on teaching activities, tips for success, and useful resources. Participants benefit from the knowledge and expertise of an experienced teacher trainer.

CERTIFICATE:
Earn a 7-hour Literacy ConneXus certificate upon completing the workshop.

Note:  Because most adult ESL students in church ministries are beginners, the emphasis is on teaching that level. However, higher-level teachers who have never attended a basic workshop will benefit from this training.  Many of the same techniques used for beginners are also appropriate for the higher levels.
